The 1982 Castle Knights Championship Run

Game 6

Castle       35

TH South    0

Oct. 1 — South Stadium

ON THE ROAD TO PARADISE — Leaving no room for suspense, the Castle Knights exacted a lightening revenge on Terre Haute South, in avenging the second of their three losses from the season before.

Thanks to a balanced offense and a ferocious defense that forced six punts — two of which were blocked — the Knights took it to the Braves from the get go.

Castle would score on its very first possession, driving 80 yards for the score, a 34-yard touchdown pass from senior quarterback Mike Davis to junior receiver Deon Chester on fourth and 14.

Three plays after junior Joe Huff blocked a South punt, David Brosmer fought his way across the goal line for a 10-yard touchdown run, giving the Knights a 14-0 lead.

After Davis hit Brosmer with a pass to the two-yard line, the quarterback took it in himself on the next play for a 21-0 lead at the end of the first half.

The Knights put the game away on their opening possession of the second half by marching 62 yards in eight plays before Brosmer rammed it over from the one-yard line for a 28-0 lead. In its next series, Castle moved the ball 80 yards in 11 plays with senior end Kenny Brown pulling in the six-yard touchdown pass from Davis for the final victory score of 35-0.

Davis passed for 177 yards, while David Brosmer ran for two touchdowns and 86 of the Knights’ 197 total rushing yards
